The rules in the book will serve as a starting point for our scenarios, and speaking personally, I expect that we'll just add on to what's there to retain the feel and uniqueness of the Astronomi-con scenarios as we transition to 5th edition. |
Glad to hear it! There are a number of scenario features that I encountered at Astro that I really love and we have incorporated into our regular games. I would hate to see them go by the wayside due to 5th. edition. |

What were some of the ideas you adopted for your games? _________________ Christian Augst

Some of the these are specific to certain Astro scenarios (I think they are from Astro scenarios ) but we use them in a lot of the regular scenarios:
- we use the Dawn rule in which you roll each turn to see if the sun comes up (2+ on turn 2, 3+ on turn 3 etc.). For Dusk we reverse the effect- the sun goes down on a roll of 1 on turn 2, 1-2 on turn 3, 1-3 on turn 4, etc.
- in Escalation games we borrowed Deployment from an Astro scenario which required you to deploy mandatory choices (1 HQ and 2 Troops).
- we start rolling for Reserves on turn 1 on a 5+ (we don't always use this reserves rule, but frequently) |
