| Ok after months of build up snakes on a plane came out. I wanna hear what people thought of it. I saw it this past saturday. Since court pointed out the ascent I will say what I thought of it. It was VERY stupid, but it was a WONDERFULLY bad movie. I enjoyed ever minute of its stupidity. From Samuel L. to the ex-nurse hathaway(ER tv series ref) to the annoying cowboy soudning from anchor man it was a fun ride like slither was earlier in the year. not exactly memorable but fun gasp from the end of the summer movie parade. |

OK what does this movie and San Diego Comic Con have in common? Nothing at all. Snakes On The Plane is an stupid premise of an movie, no way that the TSA or the Department Of Homeland Security would allow this to happen in real life. Why the hell did SDCC show the preview of this movie is beyond me? |

Probably because the production company paid a butt load of money to have it shown. It is great publicity. I am leaning towards the belief that this movie had the greatest PR of all time. I have never seen a somewhat average piece flogged so hard. As a result the theaters are packed. (for better or worse). _________________ CAF Gallery |

Well I believe that only Comic Book and Cartoon based movies should be shown at SDCC and I am getting sick of Production Companies doing that. |

Comic-Con is not just for comic books and comic-related material. It is now a pop-culture phenomenon that embraces any manner of pop culture entertainment, whether it be comics, TV, toys, movies...
One of the coolest things I saw at this year's con was the Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez panel for "Grind House"...it had nothing to do with comic books...and was cool as all hell. That's the great thing about con, it offers a number of interesting activities for fans of any number of different forms of entertainment. I'm not a fan of manga, and yet I certainly appreciate the fact that a lot of people go to con for this reason. I'm not a fan of customizable card games, but that certainly has a place at con as well. Likewise, TV and movies that don't involve comics or animation. It's a diverse event, and you certainly don't have to like everything in the program. But that doesn't mean it doesn't have a right to be there. It's not like you can't find something else to do. |
