OK, so I just saw V for Vendetta...and I can't say enough good things about it. Fantastic story (never read the GN, but I now plan to) and the cinematography was fantastic, as was the acting. I actually want to see it again before it leaves the theatre...which is a rare thing.
Now, here's a question...I noticed that Alan Moore goes uncredited...it actually says, "Based on a graphic novel illustrated by David Lloyd"...and someone told me that Mr. Moore actually requested this, wanting no association with the movie whatsoever. Does anyone know why?!? |

Hi Court,
I have not seen the movie yet, but i know that Alan Moore is a excentric man, anyway he has made some of the best comics in the comic-book history, the best with Sandman and Fables of course...: Watchmen and V for Vendetta, you should read both!,

| I've read Watchmen, and it obviously deserves all of the praise it receives. I've been working my way through his Swamp Thing run, which is fantastic...and I absolutely loved Miracleman. Promethea was also quite good for awhile. Strange thing, though, I haven't read V4V yet! Of course, it's on my short list right now after seeing the movie. And I want to see the movie again, but hopefully at an IMAX showing! |

Court, here's the answer straight from Moore. Brandon |

| OK, don't know if anyone's seen this...but I just recently saw "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance", the last film in the Korean "vengeance trilogy" (other two are "Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance" and "Oldboy"). First one (Mr. Vengeance) wasn't so hot...Oldboy was good, very intriguing...but "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance" was a freakin' MASTERPIECE! Holy crap! If anyone likes sick, twisted movies lots of unnecessary violence...if anyone likes laughing at all the inappropriate moments of a film...then this is the one to see! LOVED IT! |

I haven't read V in a while, but when I saw the movie, I have to admit that I seemed to recall thinking the graphic novel was better. Granted, the style and acting of V was pretty fantastic, but the ending was crap, imho.
Turning Watchmen into a theatrical release? I'll applaud if they do it right, but I don't see anyway that is possible. The only way it could have been adapted was as 12-episode mini-series on HBO. But... the stills I've seen are true to the panels they represent.
Latest fave movie: Brick. A modern day film noir based in Southern California and acted by teenagers. Fantastic! _________________ Ye' House of Ad! |

Wow! A year and a half later, we're picking up this thread.
Anyway, Black Snake Moan is probably the best movie I've ever seen. It's a real close tie with Fight Club, the Shawshank Redemption and Miller's Crossing.
If you love the blues, you'll love this movie. |

Two years since last post, won't you look at that.
V For Vendetta is the best movie ever made, of which not even Watchmen was able to overcome. Watchmen was great, Rorschach was terrifyingly awesome (and of course, James Jean did some artwork for the movie, never forget that), yet somehow V and Evey really hit you where it hurts.
Anyways, I'm interested in that upcoming movie that JJ took part in behind-the-scenes--Peacock. And that new Freddy Kruger movie coming up peaks interest just the same.
