The final round of the Grand Prix series will be held at Sywell, this coming Sunday.

The Grand Prix is the core national FT competition. Every region gets a Grand Prix; this one is our one (Fenlands region). 50 targets at an average of 47 yards. Hard, but good fun. Its a national league, but also serves as the qualifying round for the Showdown - a knockout comp held every September. The top few shooters on the day will qualify for the Showdown.

There are two shotgun-start sessions, one in the morning (9am) and one in the afternoon (1pm). Entry is £10.

You will need a BFTA card in order to enter this competition, or at least be waiting for one. See the thread on BFTA cards in the "Club news" section.

There is also a Sporting class, aimed at HFT shooters. You will not need a BFTA card to enter the sporting class.

This competition will be tough (I got 17/50 at GP7) but its still enjoyable nonetheless. It'll be valuable experience for anyone interested in FT.

I am told there are some places left, but very few for the morning session. If you want to go, I suggest you book in advance.

The online booking form for the event is here;

I do have a rough map and directions to Sywell as a PDF - how can I post them?
The text of the directions says;
"Sywell FTC is just off the A43 c.3 miles NE of Northampton and 5.7 miles South from Junction 8 on the A14 (Kettering/Northampton). There is a large sign ‘Sywell Range’ by the entrance to the site."
I have also bodged a map on StreetMap;
