A couple of points need to be clarified about the some of the rules and a point of safety.
there are two targets to be shot from one firing point, although it is not necessary to touch the "peg" you must be able to touch it, however it does not mean you can position yourself between two firing points and shoot four targets from the same position and claim "i can touch the pegs" because you have a long reach.
it is not acting in the spirit of the rules, and unfair to shooters with a shorter reach, also targets and shooting points are arranged to be challenging.
if anyone has any doubts remember this, you shoot two targets from one firing point and then move to the next firing point for the next two targets.
the other point is ,there appears to be some confusion about how far over the firing line you can have your "rest", the answer is you cant have any part of your "rest" over the firing line, there are many different types of rests being used and if everyone placed their "rest" over the line we would have a ragged line of shooters leaning over the shooting point,
i am sure you all agree this is potentially unsafe.
we want the shoot to be fun, but also fair and safe for all.
i hope this clears up any misunderstanding.
