looks like we got the running deer as a side shoot, also a couple of other shoots,
dave l, and mike a, have a idea or two, so we could have up to five side shoots if we can get some volunteers to help.

On behalf of Katie, I would like to thank everyone that helped make todays fundraiser a great success. We are so glad the weather stayed fine despite the forecast rain.

A special thanks to Vic Chytry who right from the start bent over backwards to help organise this event, and Alison for her help and support.

Thanks to Vic & Dave for setting the course, and Dave, James & Malcolm (not even a member) for helping Katie run 3 very successful side shoots.

I believe Joanne from hearing dogs enjoyed her time at LV. It opened her eyes to shooting, in how well organised and safe it was, aswell as how friendly airgunners are. Thankyou to all who made her and Joe Joe her dog feel so welcome.

I will post a total raised for the charity on here later today when the collection box has been counted.

Once again, thanks all.

Gretel & Katie

Sorry for the delay in posting the total, damn pc playing up.

Total raised yesterday was £160.00 !! Very Happy

This was made up of

£64 (50% of rested comp entry fees.)
£32 side shoots
£64 Raffle

There was also £36.65 in the collection box.
So in total, £196.65

Most of you will know that Katie was looking for someone to sponsor her as a finalist of Miss Hertfordshire. Well the members of LVSA (shotgunners
sponsored her with £100 and also donated in excess of £60 to the charity.
A great effort from the members of both the Airgun and Shotgun sections
of Lea Valley.

Thankyou once again to all that supported Katie. Her final is this Sunday, so fingers crossed.

hi gretal

has there been a 'thank you' letter from hearing dogs?

might be nice to post a copy on the forum/club house, so those of us the put our hands in our pockets can see it, and feel apreciated by the charity.

Im sorry,I should have posted this much sooner Embarassed

I have not received a letter from hearing dogs, however, I contacted them to say how the event went and how much money we had raised.
They were very pleased that our event was successful and joanne and jo jo enjoyed their day.
Katie handed over £303.40p on the day of the final, and altogether, the 40 finalists managed to raise over £6000 between them for the charity. I think they said it costs in the region of £4000 to fully train one hearing dog!

As most will know by now, Katie was not crowned Miss Hertfordshire this time, but bearing in mind there were over 300 entries, she did very well to get into the final 40 and we are very proud of her for that. At least she will know what to expect next year Wink
Thanks once again to all who supported Katie.

Gretel
