Make sure all the files are compatible with movie maker.

32% encoding may not actually be at the encoding stage, it could be at compiling or anywhere through the movie, but it would be a good idea to look through the movie to see if there are any problems with it, like a break etc.

Can you save the movie as a dv.avi file? Or a wmv file?

They are AVI files. I have watched all three files and they play perfectly on Windows. The messages says it is encoding, gets to 32.2% and then just hangs there forever. This has happened 4 times now. (I have NO idea why I keep thinking it will work if I try again.....).

Thanks for your help.

There are over 800 different avi files, which is yours?
Only dv.avi files work with MM.

Windows media player and MM work in different ways, so a file that will play in WMP may not work in MM.

As I said, just because the message says it is encoding dosen't actually mean it is. The error messages tend to be pretty generic, unfortunately which makes it very had to fnd the cause of the problem.

So, can you save the movie as a dv.avi or wmv?

If so, can you use this in dvd maker?

I am sorry, I'm afraid I'm not very knowledgeable of this stuff. In properties, its says they are from Pando Packages and is a Video Clip (.avi). So, I will look for software that will convert it to one of the two formats you mentioned.

Thanks again for all your help.

Use avicodec here
http://www.myvideoproblems.com/WebPages/UsefulProgrammes.htm
to find out what sort of avi it is, there are also some conversion programmes on the same page.
Convert it to wmv if it is not already a dv.avi
