MovieMaker does not play mpegII files and make clips

I use XP home SP2 and made lots of videos with MovieMaker. 2 years ago I tryed to import the mpegII files by MovieMaker (MM) but when I use "make clips" it doesnt work. What I have to do that MM makes clips? Is MM not able to import and play mpegII files and make clips?

No it doesn't work with mpeg2 files, only dv.avi or wmv.
Use windows media encoder to convert the mpeg2 to wmv and then use that.
