My friend and i are using a Canon Mv800 camcorder, using Pinnacle 9 she uploaded the video to her Vista Laptop via firewire
But theres a big problem, there was no sound at all when she uploaded it and played it back! there was sound when she played it on the camdorder, she did not install any drivers and no software came with the camcorder, (except pinnacle studio 9)
HELP! any way to fix it? is it the camcorder or the computer?
Need help in a hurry as we need it for monday and tuesday!
thanks! _________________

If thre is sound on the tape when played through the camcorder then the only problem with the cam might be the firewire port being faulty and allowing the video signal through but not the audio.
The same can be said for the cable or the firewire port on the pc.
First though I'd check that the settings in pinnacle are all correct, so the same audio setting as you used on the cam, 12 bit or 16 bit.
That you haven't got a diffeent audio source selected in pinnacle like the sound card line in.
When you drop the file on the timeline can you see an audio file? Does it have the sound waves on it? If so, is audio muted in pinnacle? _________________ Working far too hard to keep you lot happy to be worrying about when to have the next party
