Hi All_ I am new to the group.

I did a 30 mins video using ULEAD Video Studio 11, I had some jpeg's and a few 30 sec ads from the Internet. I used a T60 thinkpad:
cpu:Intel T2500 2.0GHz Core Duo , Motherboard Chipset: Intel Calistoga i945GM/PM, Hard Drive: 100GB 5400RPM SATA (Hitachi Travelstar HTS541010G9SA00), Memory/RAM: 1GB (1,024MB). I was able to edit, and render the movie and playback on the thinkpad and tv worked great. Memorex 16 x DVD-r works from Thinkpad to TV (Panasonic SA HT1000). Nice smooth cut overs on the dvd when playing.

I smoked my wife's computer swapping out the HD's (long story) and had to purchase an emachine (T5234) wi AMD atahlon 64x2 dual processor 4000+ 2.10GHz. 1 Gig mem and 32bit OS_ Vista. I have approx 800GB hard drive. I also used a 2GB scan disk in the readyboost mode.

On this system I installed Pinnacle Std ultimate 11. I burn the movie, it plays great on the computer monitor..but lousy on the TV i.e jerky. The folks at Pinnacle have been very forthcoming and trying to work with me..but even though all the recommendations...I still get the Jerky video...although much less. I am burning @ the slowest speed i.e 4x. I am using HP 16x dvd-r, and all burns on the computer does not work in the panasonic dvd player (SA HT1000), I have to use another dvd player...pic still jerky.

Any thoughts ?

OK, as the dvd works fine when being played on the pc through to the tv then it is either the setting used to make the dvd or compatibility between disc/burn/dvd player.

Can you let me have the settings you used to burn the dvd, so your studio project settings and those used to produce the dvd.

You could also try another brand of dvd.

sorry for the delay...I had a spot of technical difficulties.

I am using HP 16x media _ got them on sale over the holidays for not much for a 50 pk. In the eMachine I have a TST Corp CD/DVDW TS-H652D ( which I believe panned out to be a Samsung dvd burner). firmware of 6.0.600.16386 (I am begining to think that there is a more recent firmware although Windoze Vista says I have the most recent) I saw else on the forum where I should disable the windoze auto update..I have yet to do that.

The Pinnacle Std Ult 11.1 burn config is: audio: PCM; data transfer rate: 4000 bits/sec; always re-encode and write speed: low. I made a safe burn to disk then write image from disk to dvd. I think you maybe correct re trying a different media. I tried to find Memorex 16 x dvd-r which is what I burned the 1st movie on..that worked great...but I am not seeing any @ BB or CC...I also noticed that the HP disk seems much thicker than the memorex...don't know how that factors into the burn...if it is creating some kind of drag in the dvd caddy during the burn.

Hi Skierhughes...so I think that you are correct re the media...the dvd burner on the computer turns out to be a Toshiba 5508944 RT..not sure if this is Gateway's part # or Toshiba's. Gateway and eMachine are joined @ the hip.

Tech support provided this link for the media type to be used in the burner...none of the media that I have can be used...which may account for the jerkiness.

http://support.gateway.com/s/DVD/5508944R/5508944Rsp2.shtml

Of course my panasonic SAHT1000 or ( SCHT1000) home theatre dvd player is:

http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/SCHT1000.PDF

so now comes the fun part of trying to find a compatible media that satisfies both units....
