Hello all

I'm having issues with the graphics on games and streaming video; it slows down or stutters and then it will catch up, play normally for a few minutes, then start slowing down and skipping again.

This is a new PC that ran pretty well with onboard graphics when I first got it; soon after I added pci-e card and another 2GB memory. Things worked okay at first (not the performance I had hoped for or expected) but I started noticing slight video skipping or stuttering which has progressively gotten worse and now it's just unbearable.

~~~Specs:
Board: Asus MK3A78-EMH HDMI
Chipset: AMD 780
Processor: Athlon 64 X2 5600+ (dual core 2.8 Ghz )
Ram: 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800 (I should mention the two sticks are different manufacturers, not sure if that matters)
Video: Nvidia geforce 9800 gtx+
OS: Win Xp pro, sp3
Power: 650W
Two monitors, but I've gotten the same problems with 1 screen.
Games will run okay for a little while, and get worse and worse (it goes in a cycle though, it will run normal, get choppy amd then speed up to catch up and then normal again, repeats.)
Im trying to play various games (left for dead, eve online, fallout 3, world of warcraft, civ IV) and typically watch movies on netflix or hulu.
Speedfan has shown my core temps and gpu temp to be 57-60 C .. but case has 4 fans and is in a well ventilated cool room.
Any help greatly appreciated
Windows xp cannot access 4gb ram, max 2gb, but can see up to 3.2gb if you install a fix. Google for that.
Look for any mobo updates.
Ensure the internal graphics are properly turned off.
Get latest drivers from n-vidia for the card
Check you have the latest patch for direct x, there is one for vista which works very well on xp.
