For those people who have upgraded to Vista with an older computer and have found that Movie Maker 6 will not run on it, Microsoft have released a version based on the XP 2.1 version, which is knwn as MM 2.6

Moviemaker 6? What happened to 3, 4 and 5? And is 6 badly written so it doesn't work on average computers?

No idea what happened to 3,4 and 5, but I assume MM6 is named after windows 6 which is Vista.

On the contrary, Movie Maker 6 is so "advanced" that it needs a good computer to run it. It's requirements are for a good graphics card as it utilises the GPU.

As so many people are upgrading to Vista on pc's that don't have a god enough graphics card, MS have released an update to MM 2.1 for XP, that runs on Vista but doesn't have the facilities of V6.

A bit like Adobe with elements 2 only running on pc's with an SS2 processor.
