Hi there, just got a Jazz178 and shot some aerial vids with my RC plane. They're pretty good, a little stuttery but better than anything I've had to date. I tried to edit them using windows MovieMaker but keep running into this problem, if I split the clip it only plays the first part and only the audio in subsequent parts..I don't have this problm with other Avi files, only ones from this camera. I downloaded the codec, the full clips play fine, just not after a split in MM. Do I need a better editing program?? I just need the basics for what I usually do. Rcommendations?

Windows Vista, 2ghz pentium duocor. 2gig ram, Dell XPS ,

Downloaded a trial ver of Powerdirector 7 and same thing occurs. Tried on my desktop as well and same.

Camcorder is Jazz 178 , shoots in HD and lower res, I have published the whole AVI file to Mpeg 2 and can edit with them but won't they degrade if I edit and republish?
Thanks for any assistance!

I'm afraid it's unlikely you'll get away without converting to something and editing that file.
I can't find out what sort of file it records as, but guess at some form of H264 avi file.
Watching a video in WMP is totally different to editing in any app, as you've found.
If you want to use movie maker to edit I'd recommend converting to a high quality wmv file and editing that.
