This event will host the Welsh Duathlon Championships, and also be part of the Welsh Grand Prix series (see also thread for the Pembrokeshire Coast Triathlon http://www.mfbb.net/viewtopic.php?t=677). I suspect/hope that it will therefore generate some more interest from around Wales, so club members who want to enter should get their entries in soon! Don't forget though that you will need to provide a marshal if you want to take part - everyone else: I will be hassling for helpers soon! Leave replies here if you can help (we will need some help on the Saturday to put signs out/registration, and then again on Sunday of course). _________________ Knee operation done, I'm back on the road to beating Darren again. |

Thanks Terry - you can be Mr Sign, if you want?!
Just to be clear to club members - this will incorporate the Club Duathlon Championship, as it did in 2008. First male and female club members will be awarded the perpetual club trophies. I would encourage you to enter if you wish, but please nominate a friend or family member to marshal in your place. _________________ Knee operation done, I'm back on the road to beating Darren again. |

Entries officially closed on Saturday and we've had just about the 120 race limit - we have the option to extend a little but no promises, so you have until approximately mid-evening this evening to enter on-line! If an extension is offered either Huw or I will confirm with a message here. _________________ Knee operation done, I'm back on the road to beating Darren again. |

We're now just 2 weeks away from this event, and I need to finalise the race organisation. In particular this means ensuring that we have enough volunteers to make the event run smoothly! So far the following people have volunteered so far:
Sat (signs, racking & registration):
me, Ellie, Huw, Terry, Richard T, & Mark (and Alex & Ian I think!)
Sun:
me, Ellie, Terry, Fiona M, Julia W, Elspeth, Jane Jones & Roger (draft busting)
I need a lot more people on Sunday please! Can you leave a message here, or ring me on 07766 911069. Most duties on Sunday will start around 8am (apart from transition & registration) and finish by 10:30am. Can I have volunteers this week to take the pressure of in the week leading up to the race please. _________________ Knee operation done, I'm back on the road to beating Darren again. |

Ok for the Saturday as well if needed. _________________ The older I get the better I was! |

Cheers Les, appreciated.
After a slow start, volunteers are coming forward thick and fast (a bit like the duathlon entries - we eventually filled it!). This weekend I will be matching names to roles and if I'm still short of volunteers expect a begging message on this Forum Sunday evening.... _________________ Knee operation done, I'm back on the road to beating Darren again. |

ps - If you fancy a laugh, listen to Radio Pembs around 2:30pm on Friday, and 10:30am on Sunday - all I will say in my defence is the interviewer fluffed his lines more than I did. It's all in the edit, as they say! _________________ Knee operation done, I'm back on the road to beating Darren again. |
