Do you drive to Newcastle? We have done the Inverness to Gatwick route too which is a lot closer for us (I have PM'd you) we are hoping to go in June this year depending on my youngest's O' Grades. It always means an overnight stay in London but this years First Choice flights looks like it's going to be 2 overnighters! A lot of extra money. My eldest is 17 and working, he didn't come on holiday with us this year, hoping that he'll maybe come out for a week to Skiathos next year when we do our fortnight, my youngest is 15 in October, I have 2 boys.

Hi Donna, the reason you can't see it is because it doesn't seem to have gone! I will try again. |

It says that I have no messages. I went into my profile to see if there was something I needed to change. I allowed it to email me every time I get a PM so in my emails I can now access these PMs and I got the one from Orley.

When are you going to Skiathos next year Donna? That's us booked for June, Gatwick to Skiathos so it'll be a flight down, I hope they don't knock too many flights to London from Inverness and Aberdeen! They said they were going to do that.

I'm not sure but was hoping for end of June next year. Depends on my kids. My son is trying to get out of the Army at the moment and my daughter will be sitting 5 Highers next year. I am still smarting from the cost this year. The exchange rate made it seem very expensive and I had all sorts of hassle because you are meant to notify Bank of Scotland in advance if you want to use your debit or/and credit cards abroad. I didn't know this so am expecting expensive mobile phone bill. I booked flights from Newcastle on www.travelsupermarket.com. Then booked accommodation on internet, securing with Visa. So I thought I could pay with Visa when I got there. Wrong! It was all a bit of a nightmare. Can't complain as theyve all went pretty well over last 9 years lol!

My son sits his O'Grades next year too, but he'll be finished by then, I'll have to take him out for a fortnight, but like you say, it's sooo expensive. He wants to bring a friend this year but we siad no, it's a shame but we like our own space and since we're all in the same room I don't think so. I couldn't ask someone to contribute either as there's flights down to London and accomodation overnight then the food out etc it's not a normal 'Majorca All Inclusive' that you could do that. Our flights out were priced at £114 each but when you added everything on WOW!!! What a price. At least you can do it in stages but well worth it to get there. Has your son been in the army long?

my son has been in the Army just over a year and I feel exactly the same about them taking a friend. It would be nice but expensive. I think my daughter was bored with us this year. It wasn't the same without her brother. I am still unable to access my pms other than through my email.
