Hi,
Loved Mama Mia, took my ten year old daughter to see the film and she hasn't stopped playing my old cd's since then.
Does anyone know where the little church on the hill is where the wedding takes place, looks lovely. |

Hi Jerry, pics are fab! My daughter keeps asking 'when are we going to see it again?' ha ha, chip off the old block, I knew she'd get into Abba eventually......Planning hols for next August to Skiathos and take a trip to Skopelos to see film locations. Can you suggest a resort in Skiathos, Troulos seems popular but we like places a little more tradish, any advice would be great.
Enjoy the 4th show......... |

Skiathos is quite touristy, in a nice, cosmopolitan sort of way and therefore, although some resorts are quieter than others I'm not sure you could call them traditional greek really. That said, the Island is so small you can escape the crowds within minutes to the more secluded northern beaches which personally speaking I found more natural beauty, in part no doubts to the less densely populated with tourists.
Nightlife is unrivalled in Skiathos town though......hustle bustle if you want it, more peaceful if you want it.....caters for all tastes. If I was to go back to Skiathos it would definitely be in town where I would stay or within walking distance of town. The Oasis studios were lovely and only minutes from the airport....I'd definitely reccommend there. When we stayed we were at Asselinos in the Villa Angela......very nice and secluded but a car is essential as its a good 20-25 minute drive into town.
I'd like to see as many charms as Greece has to offer and therefore see different Islands and upto now I'd definitely say Alonissos was the traditional if you want that or Ithaca in the Ionian followed by Skopelos. But definitely dont be put off Skiathos because it's a beautiful Island in its own right and that coast road provides stunning beaches along every turn. Many stay in Troulos and go nowhere else, I'd choose to stay in town but it's definitely everyones personal preference. You'll enjoy wherever you stay and have a wonderful holiday thats for sure but do hire a car on each Island and tour the remote beaches. On Alonissos head to Gialia for its picturesque cove and in Skopelos to Agh Ioannis for the ' jewel in the crown' which is the church on the rock mentioned whereas in Skiathios head north to Nikotsara , Kechria and Kastro.
Enjoy.
