We are visiting Skiathos for the first time between 26 Sept and 3 Oct.We are staying in Achladies at the Esperides hotel.We are a bit worried that this is late in the season - can any of you people advise -

What is the weather like at the end of September/beginning of October?

Are lot of shops/tavernas starting to close for end of season ?

Can we still do a day trip to Skopelos?

Hi John,

it is late in the season, in fact its the very end and you are probably on the last flight in/out ( as are we ).

We have been to Skiathos many times at this time of year and never had bad weather but have always prepared for the worst by taking warm clothing for the evenings which will be chilly.

Koukounaries, Troulos and Achladies will be almost certainly closed down,but you are only a 15 minute walk from town which will still be fairly active though not buzzing as in the main summer months.

In my opinion, September and early May are the best months to experience the Island.

Are you flying from Manchester on the 8.15 am ???

If so, come and say hello, get a round of drinks in, and I will enrol you into the " I love Foxy Club " Shocked
