Sue, Kevin will be fine and happy when he comes home to you...
I know your worry. We just had to take Shorty (our 'terror' of unknown lineage, who is now about 15, daft as a doorknob and senile to boot - BUT, he's really HAPPY, loves his meals and can still skitter around like a pup...) in for tooth surgery. They took one old, rotten thing out and it took him a few days to get over the anesthesia (because of his age - we think it destroyed about 2 of his remaining 5 brain ceclls... Wink

but now he is VERY happy to crunch the kibble at the bottom of his bowl of geriatric mush.
I hope Kevin has a quick recovery!

he's normally extremely vociferous, poor soul was mute last night and walking like a crab with glazed eyes

he's back to normal today and ready to join our celebrations tonight my
