This is the track that you walk down to the Myrtia ,it takes about 10mins and you WILL need a torch .

This is the Myrtia apts ,we stayed last May and found them to be very good . There is a taverna on site which is also very good. After the walk down the track turn left and you come to the tavernas and supermarket about 200 yards down . The lake is opposite the tavrenas etc and the beech beyond that. In all it should take about 20-30 mins to walk from the Myrtia to the beech. The BBQ night is great at the Myrtia . Have a great time .

Hi rocdoc, here are 2 maps you can use, the first is just a tourist map, usually free at airport, the second one is much better for finding your way around the island.
This can be bought at many places for about 5 euros.
Skiathos itself is only a small island & it will not take you long to get your bearings where you are staying & of the island as a whole. Have a look at the 'Restaurant & Taverna' & 'accommodation' sections of this forum & I'm sure you will find all the information you need. If not, just ask & you'll get loads of answers from the nutters on here!! Enjoy.

having stayed at the myrtia three years ago (stayed one night) i had to be moved as it was NOT suitable for disabled, before you get to the lane in first photo above, there is a very steep incline fron the road, and the studios have 5 to 6 steps or fairly steep ramps, studios are ok though, but we did find the pillows were badly sweat stained by september, when i asked (in greek) for clean pillows, the little woman on the desk could not understand as she was not greek.

Patsy , I think the place has changed hands since you went. Their are quite a lot of steps around the place but we didn't find it a problem . The Greeks try to comply with EU regulations but when they build a ramp they don't allow enough room therefore it ends up to steep. And i think they must have made the steep entry to the track down a bit less steep as it looked like fresh concrete had been laid .
