excellent.
ok, i will expand a little more then one word! skiathos palace was ok, to up its own bum for its own good (!), food and drinks expensive but rooms adequate and views spectacular. staff were friendly but tended to suddenly struggle with english the minute you asked for something!
flights were fine, everyone had at least a 1 hour delay from manchester for some reson, they claimed it was skiathos only being able to cope with 3 planes at a time? (i would feel very panicked if i saw 3 planes squeezed at that airport!)
we ate at our favourite taverna, the village and it was as good as ever but no fotis!! the others in kouk were great, tried some in town too and you are right Foxy, kouk is cheaper.
found the heat wave unbearable and we felt so helpless watching the water planes swooping into the sea and then dropping water over the mainland. got some pictures of the orange sky and moon. scary.
used the buses more than ever and always seemed to have the same conductor, afetr asking him why, he told us he loves his job and never wants to stop, i can understand that!
so of course we wnat to go back in september. have to check funds and work availablilty. we are seriosly considering moving there after returning to all this rain!
wedding pics are on the wedding forum, will try and get other friends to give some feedback, as island virgins!
cant wait to go back and hear from everyone else as they return x

20 of us were in the palace the rest were spread all over which was a good thing because we got to have a nosy at some other complexes/hotels/beaches!
i think that must have been the reason the staff struggled with the english, my family are from liverpool and tims are from blackburn, so it was all "will 'e 'eck as like" and "calm down calm down"!!!!! |
