We have just come back from 2 weeks at the Lakes. We stayed there exactly 2 years ago and was so impressed we booked the same rooms again. It is now even better with a tele and air conditioning in the rooms. There are new wooden sunloungers by the pool. We had the whole of the top floor again which consists of two separate bedrooms, a kitchen and a bathroom plus a super large balcony. I would recommend this place as it is brilliant.
We had a great holiday but must say that we were disappointed with the food on offer at nearly all of the places in Koukounaries. For the quality and quantity, we felt it was quite expensive and everywhere served the same type of grilled meat with a few frozen chips and either raw cabbage or a slice of cucumber and tomato. We were looking forward to some traditional meals in pots (as in the previous visit) but it seemed like Birds Eye quickie meals this time. The Captains place was the best in terms of food but the service wasn't too good as the person serving didn't know if we had the right food (he said he didn't know what was on the plates he was giving us) plus we asked him for a desserts menu and after half an hour and no menu we gave up and waited another 15 mins for the bill, then left.
The best meal we had was in the town by the habour, at Oddessyus (not sure of spelling). Food was lovely and the staff were very pleasant.
Overall a nice holiday but I couldn't wait to get back to some proper cooking. |

| Forgot to say Augusteras Bar next to shop (sorry again about spelling) was great. Super pizzas and milkshakes and the staff are so friendly. |

I have to agree with you there, i don't know why it's like that with sloppy service and tasteless food, but we give Kouk a body swerve now. |

| We found it difficult to find a brochure with The Lakes in but managed to find it on-line. It is Sunset Holidays on the Thomas Cook website. |

| So sorry to upset you Ann, maybe we could smuggle the two of you in our luggage!!! In case you don't make it in September, George will leave both of you a drink at the Agustera and with Dino. Counting the days now but I'll be sorry to miss the Boomerang meeting (I did ask for an extension on the dates but no response!) |

Thanks Ann, will do. Heard there was a job going in the Taverna on Mandraki beach, may look into that when we get there. Also been told of a new venture involving donkeys and carts transporting elderly people to and from a certain beach in that area, sounded quite interesting!! |

| You know that bit of land near Stamelos, next to Jupiter, Its just about big enough. Do you think we can get it cheap? It could double as a donkey sanctuary and Big Lank might do a fun run to help fund it, we could probably get lottery or euro funding because its a good cause. |
