All jokes aside this is something my wife wanted to set up about three years ago. There were some stables available on the Asselinos road at the time.
Hasn't that land next to the Jupiter got the mains electricity supply on it? |

| Ask Pam of Windmill about our patch of land for sale down from the house, which is also for sale..see Windmill web site. Sheltered, water nearby and a 10 minute ride into town. There's even a nice spot for a house at the top of the land. Apostoli, the mule man, uses it to park his mules, which know their own way home when he falls asleep, retsinated, in the saddle. My grand-daughter thought about an animal sanctuary there when she is a bit older. |

| A few years ago, idleing our time away on Agia Eleni beach Kath n` George and Bill n` me. were thinking of moving out to skiathos to live, but would need something to do, having seen some older people looking at the hill to climb to the beach and deciding against it, we came up with the idea of little mule carts to take people over the hill, these mules would only work short shifts, they would have sun hats with ears poking through, at the Golden beach end and the beach end they would have a shelter and food/water. Handsom young Greek men would drive these, ladies would want to have their photographs taken with them, we would also own the beach taverna, our customers would get a discount on their meal. As this develops we would go to the other beaches down that end of the island. Our mules would have a good life and be looked after well. |

| Aw Ann, I've just been imagining clip clopping along sitting next to a Greek Adonis to my favourite beach and then you've just shattered my dream. Ah well - back to shanks' pony I suppose. |

| hi, sorry to burst your bubble ,but it would be very difficult to get a licence and a lot of money to the mayor, and priority would be given to greek people.they do this in lindos in rhodes, but is run by greeks. i know it was only a pipe dream, and the greek men would never let you get away with it,sorry!! |

| Until a few years ago, they did mule rides from the town to Evangelistria etc but these were stopped by the tour companies for "health and safety" reasons..it is difficult to get Third Party Liability insurance on a mule, especially when you have fallen off as many times as Apostolis. While the mule knew its way home when he was asleep on the saddle, it did not realise how low the branches of the olive trees were, so he would frequently stagger to the bakery to be patched up..and for another Retsina! |

Oh,I did the mule trip to Evangalistra with Apostolis.
I was the only one that day,so off we set.
Now,I'm used to horse riding, but side saddle on a mule is totally different,
but it was good fun, even if I was saddlesore for a few days. _________________ To dance beneath a diamond sky with one hand waving free..... |
