What a beauty!
Yours Merlin?
There was a malamute bitch at the Dog Shelter in May - someone had dumped her - an ANGEL dog but blind as a bat and deaf as a post... she was a fav. amongst the few dogs that were there. I hope some kind hearted soul has taken her home.
When I am old and gray - in Skiathos or not - I am going to make our home a home for old things.... dogs, cats, mules, horses... whatever gets dumped because they're a PIA, no longer cute, require medicating or just are no longer convenient... the dear old things....
Has anyone here homed any of the Skiathos Shelter dogs? _________________ "If you want others to be happy, practice compassion.

Roger's a Liverpool Shelter Dog, if that counts. And the cat, come to think of it......we got her from the Liverpool Cats Protection League.
When you collect the dog, you're given a free collar & lead. It has a message on "Rescue dogs love you more". Awwwww

I first saw this dog last year when some one rented the house opposite and I guess they must have rented the same place this year as the dog has reappeared, he or she come to think of it is as soft as putty and lays in wait for his owners to return in the evening to take him for a walk when he goes mental.
I often see an elderly Greek lady sneaks bones to him when his owners have go out and then continues to gable something to me that is impossible to understand whilst chasing the town cats away as they attempt to steal his feast.

| the blind and deaf husky in the shelter is called melissa, she has been there since last summer now i think, her passport was has been ready for some time but its a big responsibility to take on a dog with these disabilities so as far as i know she is still looking for an loving owner of her own. |
