Hi everyone
Off to paradise next week. Can anyone recommend good places to eat in Troulos. In the past we have tended to eat in Koukounaries or Skiathos town (bit overcrowded on the bus journey back one year). Wouldn't mind trying Troulos. Any suggestions....... |

Hi Neecy
Ah, Troulos, you've picked a great place to stay.
Easy to get to anywhere else on the island, and relaxingly quiet in the evenings.
Places to eat?
My favourite is Varelli, on the "Y" junction where the road to Asselinos leads off. Great food and friendly people running it. It's the one with the palm thatched roof. If you're around on Monday 2 June we're having a Boomerangers meet up there at about 7.30 pm.
Opposite Varelli is Paradosi, up a few steps with good food and nice ambience.
Further down the main road (in the direction of koukounaries) is Agellika, on your left.
If you walk up the Asselinos road a way you'll find Rosa on your right.
And then, on the beach, there are two tavernas next to each other. Both are good, but my favourite is the one furthest away from the road to the beach.
So, that gives you 5 to try. There are at leat 8 or 9 others to try if this selection doesn't suit.
Have fun!

Nice one opposite Christakis Taverna as well. Just up the Asselinos Rd. We had a debate about this one last year & I've forgotten the bloody name of it again

Hi all
Thanks for your suggestions. We have stopped off at Troulos many times on the way to Asselinos beach. We will certainly try as many of your suggestions as we can and yes, we'll be there for the Boomerangers meet, think this is the 8th visit so think we fit the category! |

Hi neecy
Good to know you can make the 2 June Varelli meet up.
Are you staying in Troulos? If you are (or even if you aren't!) where are you staying?

50 whats 50????? Just remebered I only have a matter of weeks left now of being 49 how scary is that ?? But what better place to be to celebrate my 50th than beautful Skiathos. You are only as old as you feel and I feel like a 25 year old it's just finding one!!!!!! (they say the old ones are the best). Jokes I mean!!! _________________ Karen&Phil

Hi Guy
We are staying at the Golden Beach in Kouk. We usually stay there or at the Skiathos Palace. We've only ever been for a week in the past and although we do hire a care and try different beaches, at night its Kouk or Skiathos town on the bus but this year we've booked for 2 weeks so will have more time. Seems like there's a great choice in Troulos. |

| I'd say Troulos & Kouk are on a par when it comes to choice, maybe Troulos has a bit more. It's a bit more spread out in Troulos though because the place is basically across three bus stops. More walking anyway. |

I Know that this reply is a bit late but for others shortly going to Troulos, Avoid Zorbas. in 14 years of visiting various greek islands this was the worst restaurant that we have visited. It wasnt just a case of one bad meal thier was seven in our party, we were all very disappointed, (speaking to others in our appartments many had walked out)
However Paradosi and Vareli ? were great (Good food and service)
Nectar and Ambrosia and Yamas had great food but service was poor when the restaurant was busy. |
