There's only one internet cafe in Troulos, as far as I know, and there was no way I was going to run down there and post at midnight after the last stragglers went home!
I arrived home last night and can now do a quick write up.
Many thanks to everyone who made the effort to get into Troulos for the evening. I was very worried people would decide it was just too much trouble at the last minute and I would end up doing a "Johnny no mates" on my own at a table for 12.
The evening exceeded expectations, though, and there were 17 of us at Varelli on Monday evening. Sadly Darell, Claire and Chrischris couldn't make it.
Those who were there seemed to have fun, and hopefully they'll post their comments.
New friendships were made and old ones rekindled. Kath n' George have an amazing "what a small world" story, although it will probably have to wait until they get back in 3 weeks time.
The evening seemed to fly past and much food and drink was consumed. One moment it was 7.30, the next moment people were rushing off to catch the bus as it was getting towards midnight.
We were joined by two couples who didn't know about this BB, but will now certainly join and immediately qualify as Boomerangers. The more the merrier.
Some photos were taken, although not by me, and may find their way onto here in time.
All told, a good evening, with fine food and drink and, most importantly, wonderful people.

Guy is absolutely right, the evening flew past...we had an excellent time meeting everyone, putting names to faces we had seen over the years and meeting new people!
It was an excellent evening, Mark and I really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks again Guy for suggesting Varelli and more importantly for arranging the evening! |

Glad all went well for you and fellow Boomerangers Guy. I was just anxious to know how it all went thats all, and if i remember correctly you sat at the Victoria internet cafe last year and sent us all a message!!! Not long for us now. How is the building going on above Varelli??

Hi Kaz, what a good memory you have!
The building above Varelli has moved on since last year. The first floor is now completed. It will be interesting to see if a second floor is added.
For those who remember him Michalis, from Varelli, who worked so hard to make our evenings go so well over the last few years, has moved on.
He now has his own place!
It is called something like "Step" or "Step up", and is just up from the Acropolis and just off the ring road.
He'd love it if anyone called in and wished him well.
