Only a month to go before me and the wife go to Skiathos for the first time, stopping at princess house. I know that people say that most of the restuarants are good but can you please give us a few suggestions of where to eat. Any good bars to recommend.
Thanks Wayne |

One place i will recommend for the last drink before you walk back up the short hill to the Princess House is this
Its on the front facing the yachts on the new harbour, You can not miss it.
As for tavernas if you eat off the harbour you will eat cheaper but will still get good food. An ecception to that is Paraxenos , its abit more than most but does great food, which is just off Pap st on Evangelistias st , i would have said turn left when you get to the Post Office but they knocked that down last winter _________________ Take a good look around it might not be there next time |

Hi Wayne
I'm sure you'll love the variety! I read an article in Greece Magazine last week and that mentions Skiathos as being good for eating out. It is!
There's so much choice - I've been trying to work out just how many tavernas there are to choose from, there are dozens. The place is incredible.

Wayne mate, you can't go wrong there's so much choice. Our fave routine was to get a seat in the cafe/bar on the Bourtzi overlooking the sea, watching the boats passing below you then wander down to the harbour.
As you walk around, look up the side alleys and you'll see that there is a narrow street running parrallel to the harbour that's jumping.
You can buy street food in this street from a couple of places but the best has to be KOZIAKAE !
The biggest bbq you will see with spit roasted meats galore. Get a mixed platter for 2 at 20 euros and a bottle of Retsina. Pull up a chair in this street full of character and enjoy !

I caught myself a few days ago doing just that, I said to someone who'd not been before "turn where the old post office used to be". I know the old one was a hole, but it was more usefully placed for directions then the new glass "palace de post". _________________ Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream. |
