So Jet Ferry 1 and Express Skiathos both parked up and the fuel tanker passing in the background.
30 minutes later, they've gone to be replaced by a Flying Cat and another G&A ferry which I don't recognise, anyone?

That big ferry was in and out of the harbor all throughout the Pentecost weekend in June - handling excess bodies, I suppose. It's a BIG one.
We never saw it any other time in the 4 weeks we were there. (It's almost as large as the ferry to-from Thessalonika-Athens that sneaks in, in the middle of the nights on Sundays and Wednesdays... )
Is this a big holiday weekend in Greece? That might explain it.

I saw it last week. Its called the hilarium and its massive.
We actually saw it docking as we came in by water taxi from achladies. Took a while to squeeze in next to some pleasure boats. Then we watched with interest as the harbour guy explained that it would have to move again tomorrow to the end of the harbour jetty and they would move the other two smaller luxury yachts to make space for it.
Big case of yacht envy we think (my boats bigger than your boat) |
