Well it's still there as my daughter could not resist a photo opportunity.
I recently wrote to the board about some news regarding one of the people that were instrumental in obtaining the transport of patsy bench to Skiathos.
Well since our return to wet and damp England we have been keeping in touch with some of these people at FirstChoice that helped out, especially a certain couple that were under threat of redundancy due to the merger with Thompsfly and faced an uncertain future, I thought it was the least I could do was to write to FirstChoice, as without there help I feel sure it would have been a long haul and may have never happened at all.
I recently received some good news attached.

Dear Mr Charman
Apologies for emailing you but I do not have a postal address by which to reach you.
Thank you for your letter to Chris Browne, Managing Director First Choice Airways / Thomsonfly regarding one of our employees – Mrs Christine Leach. It was a pleasure to read your letter praising Christine’s attitude and approach to the problem of your excess baggage, which I am also glad to hear - and to see photographic evidence of – was successfully resolved!
First Choice Airways announced its merger with Thomsonfly in September last year and whilst this has created many exciting opportunities for our business and for the vast majority of our employees, regrettably the confirmation that the First Choice Airways Head Office would relocate to Luton has meant that a number of our colleagues in Manchester have been placed at risk of redundancy.
We have been making every effort to secure alternative employment for those who are unable to take up options in Luton – Christine Leach and her husband Martin being two such individuals – and I am delighted to be able to advise you that Christine has secured a role in Manchester as Training Administrator for our Manchester based training facility.
We continue to work closely with Martin and other colleagues and are providing specialist internal and external outplacement provision in order to support them in securing alternative employment, either within or outside the organisation, and through what is a very difficult time for all concerned.
Thank you very much for taking the time to write and I will take great pleasure in sharing your feedback with Christine and Martin Leach.
Yours sincerely

Little things like this makes it worth all the effort.
