Starting at the top.
O'Batis Great food but more of a cross between a Taverna and a Restaurant but some how has managed to get it spot on.
Next is Stamatis Taverna, the largest of the three and with a wide variety of traditional food and fresh fish, he’s been doing it for a very long time so he should know what it’s all about.
Last but not least Chicken George.
You can just see him with his back to you and notice who has bums on seats?Mainly a grill house and we wouldn’t recommend anyone straying from his grill menu as this is properly one of the best grills on the Island.
Please be aware you are more likely to approach these in reverse order. |

When on a moped be sure not to take a wrong turn and end up riding through these Tavernas like we did _________________ Member of the "I got married in Skiathos" club

Chicken George's taverna is officially called "Aura". Of the three, I prefer O'Batis. _________________ Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream. |

You mean as in the cigarette come just about eveything type kiosks, can't say that I do, but then hardly ever use them so probably wouldn't have noticed. Recall using the one opposite bus stop 4 once to get some matches for our candles. _________________ Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream.

And we always thought that the guy selling roast chickens on the spit next to The King & Queen was Chicken George!! How wrong we were.
Wonder what his name is then??

Yep. it was owned by the parents of Kiriakos Karastatiras who owns the taverna on Vromolimnos. |

Noticed this year that Chicken George has a splendid new sign hanging over the "road" saying "Chicken George" and that the Aura sign that was there before has gone. The smaller Aura sign most easily visible when sitting in Stamatis is still there though. _________________ Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream. |

I noticed it some months ago. According to George himself, the sign was there last year.

It is great to see the picture of Batis. It is the place I always go on the first and last nights of my visits to Skiathos. Christos and Helen always make me welcome and I keep going back.
The food is always good and the company excellent!! |
