Hi all
Well we are so organised we have booked for July 2009 today.
We will be staying at Magda Studios & apartments at koukanaris we eventually found some information on the apts/studios and decided to book today
GOOD job only last apartment left for the dates!!!!!! God people are keen as me???? Is that possible I ask you?
I beleive they are pretty close to the Banana Beaches for that all over tan, which we experienced for the first time last year. So heres too it.
Has any one got any tips recommendations about Koukanaris and the apts and restaurants etc? Thanks in advance

In all of the 7 years we've been going, we never bothered with Koukounaries apart from the beach on our first visit. Wasn't too fussed on the beach as it was too packed so we never returned.
We've always been "Townies" in Skiathos but after reading a few threads on this forum, we decided to give Kouk a go for a couple of evenings last year. I must say we were pleasantly surprised as there's a decent smattering of tavernas & restaurants (some attached to the hotels). It's definitely cheaper than Town (which accounts for the fact that the old doorhinge, Kriandos goes there all the time).
There's also a good collection of beaches down other tracks away from Kouk so you're not stuck with having to spend time on the main one. |

The Magda studios are very well positioned for all that Koukounaries has to offer as they are about 100 yards off the main road, which means they are well within walking distance of several good tavernas and bars.
They are set in spacious gardens in a fairly quiet location ( in other words,no Foxy types ) down a path which runs beside the Caravos hotel.
5 minute walk to Koukounaries beach, 15 / 20 minutes on foot to Abelakia, Aghia Eleni or Banana.
Banana and Eleni will be crowded in July, might be a good idea to hire a car and explore some of the smaller, less popular beaches
Both supermarkets are within easy reach.
We stayed there many years ago and were very pleased with the whole set up.
Good choice |

| we stayed at Koukounaries at Amalia Apartments for 8 years. This year we stayed in town for the first time. I think they are each different but I really missed my chilled out holiday. Bimbling down to Koukounaries beach first thing in the morning and late afternoon early evening it is so good. Lazy evenings, cheap drinks at the bar of our apartments. We stayed in town this year but went round to visit George, Fottis and Dimitrius a few times at Amalia and I didn't want to leave. It is definately more relaxing holiday at Koukounaries. |
