Located in the Town and reported to be the oldest Taverna in the town, traditional food and a great atmosphere with some unusual wood work.

Well done, great pics of all the restaurants, especially for all the newcomers to the board.

Kriandos I will happily pay your 50 Drachma if you can let me have
change of a 5,000 Drachma note (which has been burning a hole in
my wallet since 1980). I would of course require Sterling or Euros.
Best regards to your beautiful young wife Viv.

John, I could make change for your note - well, in drachma... better yet, I could make a Monument to the Fallen Drachma with all of the coins and notes we still have here.
We could ALL pitch in our sad, pathetic, leftover drachma - make a great, huge monument - and then burn it!!!
Maybe then it would stop haunting us? You could mend that hole in your pocket...

Elle - D'you know what you're asking ? Burn my treasured Dr.5,000?
No way Jose ! I'm an habitual, traditional hoarder. In addition to the drachma, I have 20,050 Jugoslav Dinars as a result of an insurance rip off at the border during one of my drives from Greece through Jugoslavia
on my way back to UK (pre - Serbian- Croatian conflict) plus 1,000 Italian
lire from a trip via Venice. All are worthless but carry memories and a
strange sentimental value. The house is full of such mementos from
photos and certificates from the School of Music to a milium lined North Sea survival suit plus uncountable CD's ranging from Artie Shaw thru
Stan Kenton to Dvorak (and Joaquin Rodrigo). I'm sorry, you can have
your own bonfire but I'll stay surrounded by my sentimental vibes |
