Hi, we're Skiathos 'virgins' and are flying out on Wednesday, i've seen it's mostly been raining there these last few days and looks like it will continue through the week. I know this isn't a weather forum (!!) but do you seasoned Skiathos travellers predict the weather will remain like this? Is it normal at this time to be raining everyday 
Also, completely random question  do the ATM machines take maestro switch cards?

Hi Terry
As we write this reply it’s raining quite heavy and expected to last at least until Wednesday! If not all week. Sorry.
Bring some warm clothes for the evening and a light waterproof coat just in case.
Most of the beaches are closing there facilities and the sun beds are disappearing too, partly because of the XL situations and the weather but I’m sure you will have a wonderful time no matter what the weather.
I’m pretty sure the cash point will be able to extract your cash from you but I will look later.

| I had problems using my maestro card in early September, and when I got back to the UK I was told I should have informed the bank I was going abroad, and had to have it 'unlocked'. I've always used it when away without telling the bank first; and used it in Skopelos in June without any problems. Might be wise to let your bank know before you fly. I hope you enjoy your holiday!!!!!! |

Thanks, i've just rang Natwest and they've said to ring them if it blocks the card, it's a security measure for 'unusual' withdrawals |

Been many times at the end of september and into october and have always had excellent weather although evenings can get chilly.
Got a call yersterday from Skiathos and was told, although it was raining heavily it should clear up by wednesday / thursday.
We go on friday so it's bound to be sunny  |

Yep, he's still there, stranded by XL but in typical Irish fashion ..... does'nt give a toss
He rang my sister in law tonight, having booked them into his appts from friday onwards, to say he is staying for another week to be with us, and will worry about getting back to Ireland when the time comes.
