Due to circumstances we could not book a holiday until about the end of June. We normally fly XL but luckily as it turned out all the seats were booked.
We finally got a package with First Choice to Zorbas Studios & Apartments at Agio Paraskevi from Sept 12th until 26th, later than we normally go and the week of the big rain!!!.
When we booked the default booking was a studio but we were given the choice to upgrade for what was really a small amount to an apartment, which we did.
Never been with first Choice or to the Zorbas and could not fault with either so we decided we would like to go back there again next year but just a couple of weeks earlier. However on going on the First Choice website they only gave us the option of a studio for just two people, no apartments. I got the main First Choice brochure from the shop plus their Greek brochure, the main brochure does not do Skiathos and the Greek one, no Zorbas, so I can only book for Zorbas online.
I contacted First Choice to enquire why there is no provision to upgrade to an apartment. They told me they can sell and only wish to sell apartments to 4 people not two. I was given a choice when I booked so late because the bookings were down for that time of season and there were apartments not let.
It does seem that in some cases the choice to upgrade is not being given and that now leaves us stumped as to where to stay next year. We can again wait to the last minute but cannot guarantee we will be able to get in.
