Hi all
We are hoping to come over for the summer next year and have sussed out - I think - a route to drive over, (thanks to everyone on here) BUT have read somewhere that when going back at the end of the season we would need to take a 'different' route because of our dog?
If anyone can help with this query it would be much appreciated, thanks.

| Has your dog got a passport? if not you cant take it back into the uk! If you have already sorted that (it takes 7 months for the whole procedure) then all you have to do is take the dog to the vets 24-48 hrs before you re-enter the uk and get it frontlined wormed and a health check. Also you can only go on certain ferry routes. Look on the defra website under pets passport for more details. Hope that helps |

Hi Firefly
does this mean that we would need to take out dog to a vet in Skiathos or mainland for the frontline worm thingy before we would be able to bring her home to UK?
Thank you

if you are driving, then you wouldnt be able to get it done in greece, it would be impossible to get to the uk in 24-48 hours, so you would have to get it done, italy, austria, germany somewhere like that.
There is no vet on skiathos so if you were to fly you would have to take them to volos the night before, but also you cant fly dogs directly from skiathos to the uk anbd can only fly them on authorised airlines from athens. |
