We are now drawing towards mid-season here in Skiathos, so, if anyone is interested I thought give you an update.

Our studios are doing well, we have 3x more guests than this time last year. We haven't got the cleaners anymore, they were getting a bit old so Claire and a young Bulgarian girl are doing the honours. They are working hard and for the first time in 10 years I actually see Claire when she is properly tired.

Olympic is hard this year, we are one rep down which means we all have 3 more properties each. This means that I have to do 9 welcome meetings on Saturday. This is tough going.

We have set up CD Property Management, we are looking after a number of privately owned villas on the island. It is hard work but I think this will be a good business for us.

I have had some problems with my hearing, I went for a syringe at the medical center but it didn't work so I was put in contact with an English lady who uses alternative methods and hey presto..... I have hearing that is exceptional. I can pass on any enquiries.

The old Merc has taken a bit of a bashing recentley, Claire hit a patch of oil near the Atrium a couple of weeks ago and so tested her nerve and the front of the car and the ABS. Claire came off ok but the car needs a visit to a bodyshop in Volos on the close season.

Sophia is doing very well, her Greek is perfecto and she is now at the stage where she has learned Greek words but doesn't know the English equivelant, in other words her Greek is better than her English!!.
She is still a monkey and still loves her swimming at the Oasis in the afternoon.

Last week we went to Kouk beach for the day, this is the first time this season we have been to the beach. I went water-skiing at the Astir ski school, it was my first ski in 4 years and boy did I feel it after!!

Darrell, I expect you are fit, but things can change over time.
I have just had a Shoulder Rotator Cuff Muscle Repair operation, probably due to wear and tear, but others in for the same op had been jerked water-skiing, and winter skiing.

Great report, things seem to going well for you guys and I am really pleased CD property management is up and running, Myself and Andrea will see you all in September and have that chat we said we would have, maybe Andrea can help Claire a bit as well,

Keep the reports coming mate. They're always an interesting read & you're doing what most of us on here, dream about. (Although if Kriandos ever moves out there, I can't see him wanting to work hard).

Interesting about the Property Management thing....is that like maintenance while they're empty or are you acting as a letting agent?

Well done Darrell and Clare, as the saying goes you only get out of life what you put into it, and you two sure work hard to achieve your dream. Only wish I had the courage to do it, Phil would do it tomorrow.
