I know it's not as straight forward as in the UK. But do we need some kind of residency certificate from the Town hall? We only want an oldish ( but reliable) 4 X4, something like a Honda CV or Toyota Rav 4. I know we can insure it at the Inter American office at the top of Papadiamanti Street. Any tips/advice please? How much is road tax? Is there anywhere on the island that can do MOT's or do you have to take to Volos? How often are they needed?
Thanks

Hi Val,
I know the following and someone else will be along to help you with the rest.
You will need residency or whatever they call it now, easily obtainable. Your accountant will advise.
MOT's are every 2 years and this means a trip to Volos.
The Interamerican is a good place for your insurance.
Road tax depends on the age and cc of the car. |

my car has a 3500cc engine and man i am still crying over the 1100 euros i paid for this years road tax, i really should get rid of it but at the time no one is buying the big engine cars so prices has fallen incredible.
its a big bargain now days as one can easily buy a nice American jeep for perhaps 3000 euros...... |
