I agree with Elle ----- sshhhhhhh my favourite too. Never gets crowded. First time I went to Kechria we ended up coming in the wrong direction. Parked down a narrow dirt track and walked all the way through the woods, past a derelict house (what a place to renovate!!) and landed in this beautiful spot with the best taverna for lunch. Then we found the easier route ... Rolling Eyes sshhhhhh ..... this bay converted my husband from a 'pool' man to a 'beach man'. Spent every day lazing on the grass, reading or snorkelling. Laughing

Gosh! It broke my heart to see how they've 'cleaned' it up!
As one of my all time favourite places....this is how I'll always remember it:

Ok,OK, I'm convinced. Anyone got £1.5M to spare? Just lost mine on Monday when the FTSE crashed.

I can dream.

Hi all.. With so many beaches i think its diff to choose 3 but for me no 1 is Kastro as it has a great little beach hut that does snacks a great walk upto the old town and the clearest sea on the whole island. only down side is when the boats come in.. the cliffs are stunning with many falcons flying around. and if you scamble over the rocks to the left facing the sea you can relax on your own and the sea is like a swimming pool. another great beach is mandraki elias not mandraki, often this is known as just elias. Its better than mandraki as it doesnt seem to get so many wasp not so busy still room to lay without being bothered by the bat and ball brigade, nothing agianst them hey foxy.. this is prob best beach of all to take kids as you can walk out for a long way and its so shallow to the left.. platanias also known as ag para is great but if you like to be more private then when on beach turn right go to end where rocks jut out climb over these and there is little sand bay you can lay all on your own unless sunday then i may be there. also this is great place to snorkel as there is a basin with many diff fish in.

HI all the beach in the photos is know as magarias not sure of spelling the bigger beach to the right from the sea is kechria... if you take the road out of town towards the mon and then travel the road over the top there is a sigh to kechria and also kastro which for me is the best beach on the island with its cliffs and clear water, as you look out to sea go left as far as poss over the rocks and you come to tezzas private pool? apart from abelaki this has to be the warmest water round the island.. oii foxy do ypou go snorkling as ag para is one of best places to go...

I don't bother these days but I'd imagine it would be about the best. Used to do a bit of Scuba Diving in my wild youth.

I know the rocks you mean. Mother in Law wandered down & sat on the rocks last year. Cue me staying on the sunbed for some peace.
