Has anyone else been to En Plo yet this year?
It was always a favourite place of ours but this year the evening menu has changed drastically with a much smaller choice, it has gone slightly 'up market' and the prices reflect this. What looked like the original menu is now only available before 6pm so no potatoes in oven only fries etc. They didn't seem to be doing much business but not sure if its because of the changes or if Limanaki have taken a lot of the passing trade.
Limanaki on the other hand have a huge menu and superb food. |

| We noticed how small the menu was last year, Kath. Gone right down the nick from years ago. |

We had dinner one evening last September, not eaten dinner there before, just lunch. As such, I can't comment on the "old menu" because it was just the new one there. Whatever, it was our "dinner of the trip" evening - great food. _________________ Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream. |

The menu seems to have got smaller each year but if I remember correctly I think there's only a choice of about 12 main course dishes now after 6pm. Old favourites like lamb in lemon with potatoes in oven (the potatoes were scrummy) and some of the vegetarian options weren't available, when we questioned the lady serving us she said she was new and that was why it had changed but we could have chips if we wanted! Such a pity, I know things change but we used to eat there several times each trip and it is now off the list.
The colour scheme has changed too it is now white and lilac and most of the comfy chairs have been replaced with more traditional upright ones. |

Hi
We ate there last Mon pm - you are not wrong about the menu changes, one to remember for the future - check it still serves what you're hoping to eat). We did however enjoy the meal. We sat indoors as it was too cold that night to sit outside (Kurt & Goldie were in too - and she spoke Greek)
I preferred their previous more extensive menu and think that the Limanakia definitely beats it, we ate there Thurs pm - sat outside right by the water on a lovely balmy evening and it was good service and great tasty hot food. _________________ you heard it here first - BOJAN! |

I heard that En Plo's chef had moved on since last year.
I agree Suejet, Liminaki is the one to beat this year, had 2 great meals there in May. They've really got their act together since last year. Will be going back for more in September _________________ Cherie

| You are quite right Suejet we should have checked the menu before going in and expecting it to be the same, will remember Merlin's little nugget for the future - always expect the unexpected. |

| I eat at EnPlo this night, very good service, the dinner menu is not very bigger but sufficient and it's different from a normal greak menu with moussaka, stifado and souvlaki,Kostas make something different and modern for it's 10 year business. |

Darrell and went there last friday. Because we have been going there years, and in winter, we did not look at the menu either. It took us ages to find something we liked, and when mine arrived the lamb was not cooked. Darrell's pasta was very dry with no flavour. I think I will only go back there now out of season. _________________ www.perigiali-skiathos.com

We did visit the restaurant ... some days ago and I must say that we were quite impressed. All dishes were executed with fine materials and they resembled a lot to grandma's traditional cooking, ok more refined. Something like Haute Cuisine, in simpler forms. The decor was lounge and the atmosphere very relaxing. The lamb was exquisite, as certain spaghetti dishes. They have told us they changed their Chef this year, good choice. |

| Visiting Skiathos is surely a lovely experience for me, my husband, and our 2 small children. I am half Greek, though I stay in Newcastle. My hobby is eating out...ok who doesn't like it, but my point is that I chose this restaurant when friends of ours in Athens urged us to do so. They are visiting Skiathos almost every weekend for business and they never miss their chance to eat there. As they told us, all Greek magazines mention it as the island's jewel. So we did visit it... and I believe -without glossy words- that the food there is perfectly cooked, the menu is well written (not like others which seem lie a joke) and there are certain dishes that surely deserve prize. Our recommentations are the Garganelli (kind of pasta) with beef fillet ragout, risoto with parmesan creme and rocket and lamb with ratatouille and fresh thyme. |
