Hi

We are making our first trip to Skiathos at the beginning of September just for one week, wont be long enough! Does the bus go to Kechria Beach as we thought we wouldn't bother hiring a car. We are staying in Achladies.

Unfortunately Jo, you will need a 4x4 to get to Kechria, as it is along a very bumby small dirt track and is probably the furthest point from the main road that you can get. The buses do not go anywhere off the main road, just between Skiathos Town and Koukounaries.

I would suggest a 4x4 for at least a couple of days just so you can visit the remote parts of the island, you will be missing so much if you stay on the south side of the island.
