| Hi everyone. Just found this forum today and have really enjoyed reading all the posts. We're hoping to go to Skiathos next year and really don't know which resort (or accommodation) to choose. Looking for a lovely beach and some good tavernas. At the moment it's probably between Troulos and Ag Paraskevi (?) - can anyone help us decide and recommend any accommodation in either resort. |

Both good spots. Paraskevi is a much nicer beach & I think the accommodation is better. A bit more in Troulos in the way of restaurants & tavernas although it's a bit more spread out.
Are you looking for luxury accom or cheap & cheerful? |

| Would like luxury really at cheap and cheerful prices! Looking for something cheap - at the moment have been looking at Maria Yiannis Apartments in Troulos and Ionnis Apartments in Ag Paraskevi. Grateful for any advice. |

Try this place Robert http://www.skiathosdiamond.com/#
In Kolios, about 400 yards from Ag Paraskevi. Owned by the people who own the Paradosi Taverna in Troulos (Christos and Soula). Apartments 4 years old and about twice the size of most normal Greek apartments. Swimming pool, no bar and a supermarket across the road.
You have to book directly with them via the web site and I have been quoted €630 for two weeks at the end of June. _________________ Roll on 2009! |

| You won't go far wrong with Ioannis apartments in Agia Paraskevi - they are in a peaceful location but near enough to all village amenities and bus stops to get around the island. They are very well-run by a lovely family and have on-site bar and restaurant - Green Park - both of which are of an excellent standard and very well-run. We have seen the property develop over several years and each time we revisit Skiathos, something has been very tastefully added - we ate at Green Park on 3 occasions on our recent visit and the whole atmosphere of the place was so pleasant. Skiathos Diamond apartments at Kolios, as mentioned here, look very nice too - we stayed further up the track this year so passed them several times a day and thought they were worth investigating for a future visit - not so conveniently situated as Ioannis but the walk uphill from the road is worth the nice countryside views from the pool area and the balconies. |

| have to agree with shepre - never stayed at ioannis but they look lovely and you cannot go wrong for a lovely meal and evening out at Green Park- our favourite in Aghia Paraskevi - we always stay at Theodora in Kolios just up the road from the Skiathos Diamond - we watched them being built - look nice apartments and lovely views - ave to say though we are paying much less than 630 for two weeks in September this year - Manos is open early for fresh bread at his supermarket - counting down the days to 5 September!!! Lucky you booking for next year already! |

Sorry folks you're all wrong..........Best place in Ag. Para are the Ostria Studios. Very central, right near the bus stop, beach, Supermarket, tavernas, has a great pool and the apartments are spotless. We've stayed there twice and are booked to return June2009. If you go to the Green Park to eat you'll possibly face the biggest plates of food in all Ag. You'd have to take your "A" appetite!!!! Wherever you decide, I'm sure it will be super.........Good luck. _________________ Cheers,

Two places up in that neck of the woods stand out.First off is the Xanthi studios, just behind Infinity Blue.Finer hosts you will not meet. They are with Olympic.
Also,as BB and LB posted, the Diamond studios. We stayed there last July after reading their reccomendation and the place is spot on. _________________ www.perigiali-skiathos.com

Best place I think, to stay, Koukias Village Apartments, Troulos.
I have satyed there 3 times and booked again for 2 weeks July next year. Can be found in Thomas Cook brochure. I personally love this place. Took lots of family and friends this year and will be taking even more poeple next year.
Spotlessly clean apartments, beautiful pool area/ bar & snacks / meals all day at very reaonsable prices.
Family run and very friendly.
Highly recommended.

Hello, off to Skiathos this Friday, 2nd visit staying in Troulos. Could someone please give me the location of the Green Park in Aghia Paraskevi as it seems a good place to visit.
Thank You, Cinders _________________ Cinders |

Get off bus at number 16,walk towards town only a short distance,go down the path next to Jimmy's keep walking and you will come to it ! its not very far. Take a good appetite with you and unless you are very hungry dont order a starter! I can also recommend the house wine ! I have only had the Rose but it is good ! Its a nice place and the background music is good. Enjoy!!! |
