In late May, after a lovely dinner at Infinity Blue we were heading back down the lane to wait for the bus back into town - it was later than we thought and as we were making our relaxed way down the hill - not drunk at all, but certainly pleasantly 'wined' - we heard the bus coming - it was 11:30, and we needed to catch it.
But the lane - hard, hard and uneven concrete and quite steep! - was in the pitch dark, and suddenly our friend started charging down the hill - in little slippy flats, or heels, something that clacked with each step...
I realized that we could not let our hostess do all of the running for the bus for us, so I started to run after her myself and just as I yelled out to her 'Be Careful!!! Don't fall!!!", DOWN I went!
Hard. I felt my right ankle twist in a culvert in the center of the lane, I took a good step w/ my left and caught my balance but when I went to step again on my right, there was nothing there to hold me so I went down with a crack. Several cracks! And bounced. And slid. Ow.
Got up, bloodied, in shock, feeling REALLY dumb and unable to walk without being held up by Paul and the bus driver took one look at us and rushed off and left us there! Thankfully our friend drove us into town, our sweet friends at Palio Limani cleaned my wounds with ouzo (!) and packed my swelling ankle in ice... The next day I could hardly walk, hobbled around and let my wounds heal a bit, but then the next day, against everyone's advice, I spent the day bobbing about in the water at Tsougria. And the next and the next... No problem getting over the hill, swelling went away, pain left, the wounds didn't heal quickly (salt seemed to keep them open ) but they never infected and they eventually healed with no scarring.
Last week I went to my chiro and doctor because for several weeks I'd been having troubles with that ankle and there is quite a bit of fluid in it. Doc examined and pushed and prodded and xrayed and told me that it was a cracked bone and pulled ligaments!!! From my tumble in Skiathos... He was astounded that I had apparently healed - there - so quickly, and been able to walk without any trouble after just a few days.
It's that Aegean Sea... she heals - we just knew it - Doc said that he had heard stories from patients, of the waters of the Aegean causing aches and pains to disappear swellings to diminish, arthritis to mellow... and now, apparently, cracked bones and pulled ligaments to knit functionally and quickly!
If I were there now, I'd not be having any troubles with it, I'm sure of it...
Does anyone else have a magic sea story? I can't be the only one here to tout the healing magic of that beautiful sea...

Fabulous Elle!
We went to Kalithea in Rhodes which supposedly had magical waters - MrJet decided to rub some into CoPilot's shoulder which had been causing grief for ages - it worked. Never bothered CoPilot since. _________________ you heard it here first - BOJAN! |

hey, my rep tells a different story every week!!!!!!!!
if you cross the hole at lalaria 3 times you live forever is one, but his favor is that if you cross it 3 times y find eternal love.......
it seems to be working for him soooooooo hope if i cross it 4-5 times ill get lots of .......
but heres a good one:
if you girls wonder whats so different about us greek guys heres my story:
husband takes his wife to the athens zoo and stand in front of the gorilla.
darling he says , i think that he likes you, lets have some fun, lets get him exited show him some breasts.
so when she lifts her blouse the gorilla really gets exited and starts to jump up and down while drumming his chest as gorillas do.
now show him yr behind the greek husband says.
so she starts wiggling her bum, and gosh the animal starts climbing up and down the trees.
suddenly the boy picks the wife up and throes her over the rails into the animals compound.
darling why did you do that she said?
well darling NOW YOU TELL HIM YOU HAVE A HEADACHE!!!!!!! |

do you know why the greeks get bold on the front of their head , but the Brits get bold at the back of theirs?
couse the greeks never think upon an act, and afterward they hit it with both hands screaming: my god what have i done!!!!!!!,
while the Brits think to much, scratching it. |
