After rushing down our dinner in Nikos's our party of 6 ( 4 adults and 2 children) quickly purchased tickets for the film and entered the cinema.Due to the number of people watching the film we were forced to the back of the cinema underneath the overhead canopy to watch this film.Thank God!!!! Everything was going as to plan up to the interval.We were all enjoying a few beers or a glass of wine or some popcorn while enjoying the film.After the interval everybobdy settled back down into their respective seats and then all hell was let loose! It went very cold in the space of a second,a few spatters of rain on my arm, a crack of thunder, a bolt of lightning and then a torrential downpour.A wind like a mini tornado swept around the cinema sending chairs and plants crashing everywhere.Children were screaming and adults were running all over the place in near darkness.The canopy nearly got ripped off and i was soaked so i went out into the street to see what was happening.It was like a river running down past Nikos's and everyone was sheltering under the shop awnings. Apparently there was a water spout off of the coast that picked up half of the Agean sea and dumped it on top of skiathos town and me in particular! lol! I went back into the cinema and there was about 50 hardcore abba fans still watching the film soaked to the skin singing along! Mad as hatters! When we got back to the Hermes in Kolios , we found out that they had had no rain--not one drop!!  |

Wow, that sounds like a trip to the cinema you will never forget!
When in rains in Skiathos it rains! My boyfriend & I have been going for the last 6 years and a couple of years ago it poured down for 17 hours! Have never seen anything like it
Still had a fab time though!

I know a couple like that, for an hour and a half it rained it was freezing cold and still thay sang along happy as larry
