In the last two weeks of May, how warm is Skiathos? I am suspecting not hot enough for sun worshipper Diamond ! I know I shouldnt ask this question on a Skiathos board but many of you are experienced travellers. Where else, other than the Caribbean, can you go to in May and its HOT ! Well, at least in the 30's. We want to go away during May, before a July visit to Skiathos, to somewhere different, but it has to be hot.
Thanks. _________________ www.ClearSpray.co.uk |

Just done a Nile cruise and it is was very good it should be warm enough in May , usually mid to high 90s and sometimes over 100 deg.

the last few weeks of May are lovely. I need WARMTH and it is perfect for me. Just before the heat blast that comes in June, still cool enough that there are spring flowers about in abundance and the grasses are just turning from green to brown... the sea is quite swimable, depending upon how cold the nights are, but to be honest, I've rarely had to wear a jacket at night in late May. If I'm not careful, I am sunburnt the day after arriving, mid May.
That said - storms can come any time of the year! Nights can be chilly and you can be met with many days of wind and overcast skies! But - it is Skiathos, and for me, that in itself outweighs - in a very good way - anything else that may occur! _________________ "If you want others to be happy, practice compassion.

I totally agree with Elle, if I could only go once a year then it would have to be May
It’s a wonderful time to see Skiathos Island and embrace Greece. |

I agree with the comments on May, entirely, but we may have a problem with our July holiday in Skiathos and therefore May would be lovely but if it were my only holiday for the summer, I have to have it HOT and we enjoy the buzz of a busier Skiathos Town. If I had my way I would go in May, July and September but needs must. _________________ www.ClearSpray.co.uk |

Thailand but it's probably too hot in May. We went in mid-April & regretted it.
Maybe one of the Greek islands further south, such as Crete or Rhodes may be a bit hotter than Skiathos. |

And Lindos on Rhodes is always a few degrees hotter than the rest of the island.
