Has anyone spent time on Skiathos in late December? After Christmastime, over New Years?
Thinking of going then for a few weeks since we can't make it this month... would love to hear from anyone who is there, or who has spent that time of year, there... thanks!! _________________ "If you want others to be happy, practice compassion.

| Hi Elle, We went out on boxing day last year for a week and we are doing it again this year. There is no doubt that the island is very quiet as a lot of locals go over to the mainland to visit their relatives particularly for New year. That said we loved it, we had a couple of really cold days and some rain but also lovely sunny days, where we sat behind the plastic screens on the old harbour and had lazy lunches or just frappes. People certainly have more time for you ,but of course you know that. We collected drift wood most mornings and had 'real' fires in the evening. The Brits all got together on New year's eve for a meal ( I think linked to the Cat's Protection Society) but we just had a couple of cocktails on the front. Let us know if you decide to go and we could get together for a drink! |

Hi Elle,
We will of course be here over Christmas. Not quite sure what we are doing yet but we have all chucked in some ideas. What is definate is that we will be having roast turkey on christmas day with some English friends and maybe a handfull of locals. We brought our tree out from the UK as well as loads of decorations so we will put them all up all over the house.Sophia will get loads of presents and we have been talking about having a few down on the old port (if anything is open).
This could all change and probably will!!........several times. _________________ www.perigiali-skiathos.com

sounds perfect to me... we loved it last December (early Dec...) - this time I will be on my own. A bit lonelier but I'm going (hope hope) to write, something much more easily accomplished without the company of a playmate! I hope to be able to meet up with any of you who shall be there, for a drink along the old port - or two, or many! _________________ "If you want others to be happy, practice compassion.
