I am tempted to book with them to be honest. One reservation I have is this.
If this is a seat only flight, do you think there is enough interest for seat only on Skiathos AND what will this company do if the interest in seat only isn't there ?
It suits me but an all round package is cheaper for most.

Good points Gary.
In the "old days" the charter holiday companies to Skiathos always sold a few seat only tickets.
In the new "Viking days"(!!) my guess is the seat only operators will sell some package holiday seats to other operators.
Think of the mixed 'planes coming into Skiathos last year.
Each flight had people with a number of package operators, from the widely known Thomas Cook, to the less well known Greek Islands (or something like that!).
No reason why Viking can't sell seats to other tour operators.
They've taken a lot of the old XL slots and, as I keep saying on here, something must be planned for all the old XL 'planes!
Pure guesswork and uninformed speculation, but possible nonetheless.
On the other hand, it may be a complete disaster and Viking will go belly up!
But, as Foxy says "We'd never get out of bed in the morning, if we worried about everything that might happen."

People are saying the 'credit crunch' is killing everything, isn't that the reason why everything has gone t***s up.
Is it because for the last 8 years everything that anyone has purchased has been on 'credit' ,cars,furniture,Hi-Fi,second homes, holiday homes.
Have people been living beyond there means for the last 8 years and now they can't get any credit?
Why can't people pay for things in the normal way........cash!
My rant is over for the day and someone will probably put me right. _________________ www.perigiali-skiathos.com

How about Monarch ? Was thinking of booking with them through Travel Republic mainly because the flight times are early which I prefer from Gatwick plus First Choice are now charging for baggage. _________________ www.ClearSpray.co.uk

Well Guy, we're with you (not from Gatwick though!!). We've booked our flight for end of May with Viking. Let's hope they don't go 'belly up'. We haven't got any money back for the flight we booked with XL for 2009 yet! |

Great stuff Kath n' George.
My turn to buy a round of drinks on Mandraki when we meet.
Do you know if the bar there will still be employing that old pensioner who served us last time?!

You're on Guy!! Roll on Summer and Paradise.
I think that guy you mentioned was there in September, albeit on a part time basis. Providing the 'tax man' doesn't find out I'm sure he'll be back in June!!! |
