| Just to clear up any confusion. We stayed in the Sunset Apts. Hi to Vasillis and all the staff who looked after us so well. Ilia's Orchard was on one side ..two visits .. no complaints what so ever. Our bad experience was in the restaurant on the other side of the Sunset property. To those of you who have enjoyed a long standing and ongoing relationship with this establishment, I wish continued good fortune. That been said it seems we are not alone in experiencing the other side of service that was without doubt the worst I have ever known. All we wanted as ever was some basic service and some edible food. Being served what we ordered in a timely fashion would have been a huge plus, alas it was not to be. |

Camger 1 Glad you enjoyed the Sunset appts, we are staying there in a couple of weeks, lovely location. Where was your favourite place to eat during your stay, any reccommendations for this year much appreciated. I understand there are a few new places that have opened up in Kouk for this year.. _________________ angela |

No offence meant to Paul who started this thread but does anyone else think it is pointless?
I personally wouldn't touch a KFC if I was paid to but it doesn't mean others don't think it's the best meal on the planet - it's all down to opinion and everywhere, even my favourite haunts on Skiathos, can have a bad night every once in a while....just ask Foxy.
I can't make any comments about Michaels because I have gone out of my way to avoid it every year, for probably unjustified reasons, even though it is always packed to the rafters. |

Spot on actually, Skids.
I've had bad meals at a few of my favourites......Amfiliki, En Plo to name but two (well there is another but I'm already in trouble).
Oh - and I like KFC. |

The worst meal I have ever had on Skiathos was at the Windmill last year....from the way everybody raves about it the chef was either off that day or not keen to be in work.
The service however was faultless and in the end we only paid for one course (mine) as I waded through some really overcooked duck (I was starving and would have eaten anything). I think my wife and I were doubly disappointed as we had heard such good things about it. |

I cant say ive ever had a bad meal in Skiathos, however on night a few years ago we did try the Chinese/indian in koukounaries - bad move as i would never normally eat 'foreign' food in Greece but i had a chilli craving! The meal wasnt bad, just bizarre....more like a spicy indianychinese roast dinner! Ps We love KFC! _________________ angela |

Hi Grecian,
Enjoyed Ilia's Orchard in Koukounaries. An old favourite of many, reading through other posts here. Really enjoyed our night at "Restaurant Hellenikon" in Skiathos town, with the added bonus of live Greek music. |

Must admit I've read so many people rave about The Village in Kouk but we ate their three years ago and weren't that impressed.
The worst meal we have had by far, and this probably isn't much use, was in Skiathos Town, to the left of Papadiamantis St as you walk up from the harbour. I haven't a clue what it was called but it's all done in yellow furnishings and was very busy. Never figured out why, it was awful! |

| That's Dino's by the sound of it, Hayley. Always very busy & I think we had our first ever Skiathos breakfast there. Can't comment on the food but when we had breakfast, we waited ages. |

| We did wait ages, I remember that. We'd only popped in for a quick lunch and wished we'd never bothered. I swear my burger was out of a tin. |

| We haven't had any really bad meals on Skiathos but one we had at Dino's didn't go down to well . Also once at the Scuna the food was not up to much. |

So Theodora's is the worst you've had then Theodora?
As for Dino's, we always have our first lunch of the trip at Dino's. This year, because we didn't arrive on the island until 20:30 it was dinner, but normally lunch. Dino always recognises us and we have a good meal. His daughter is away at uni now, so we don't see her anymore, she's a sweetie as well. _________________ Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream. |
