|

just wondering whether any one could recommend a taverna where a reception could be held just after something chilled out and informal as possible but close to the Bourtzi.
I have found a site for the taverna selini which looks lovely but i have alsways stayed close to trulos when holidaying in skiathos, so a bit clueless when it comes to tavernas in town!
any ideas and suggestions would be brilliant thank u!! |

hi,
you will have a large number of posibles.
i had my wedding at asprolithos 15 years ago ( just as good if not better now) and polycratis is very near there, then i know of many others had theirs at the tennis club, also scuna, i saw one last month at en-plo, jail house last year, we had a couple at my place oasis, and i know of another 20 places.
some important issues you should consider:
- first check their regular prices , ie: how much would it cost to serve a table for say 15 persons, then ask them for a price quota and do yr maths, since at some places when they hear wedding the price goes up....
- the time of yr request cause at some places if y have it at their busy time say 8-11 night, they will charge more.
- the date, as at some places early or later in the season you will get discounts ( for example prices vary for june- july august - september).
- i would recoment a place that has both out and inside seating facilities sos in the event of bad weather it will be okay.
- you can order yr wedding cake individually, and perhaps if the place agrees some of the expensive drinks as well.
i will be happy to help so if y like pm me.[/b] |

Hi Gem
Congratulations and well done for choosing Skiathos.
I would also be inclined to ask whether you would get the place to yourselves or whether separate areas would be arranged.
Places like Taverna Selini & Mediterraneo have an upper floor so you may be able to negotiate one floor for the wedding or you could have a late afternoon reception before the places open to the public in the evening.
Have fun organising. _________________ you heard it here first - BOJAN! |

| We have just returned, and out of all the tavernas we tried Aprotholis was in a different league to all the others with both the food and service. |

Hi Gem,
Why not have a few drinks in the Bourtzi Taverna and then go on to somewhere for a meal
We did this and then went onto Thessaloniki taverna on Megali Amos beach for the rest of the afternoon and evening - even managed to do a bit of sunbathing on the beach!! _________________ Member of the "I got married in Skiathos" club

| that sounds perfect i was wondering whether u could do drinks at the bourtzi, as i worried that the whole day would end to quickly going straight to a taverna like the sound of guests feeling they could relax on a a beach as well so much to think about!!! |

The Bourtzi area is lovely - you can have loads of photos done there while all the guests are chilling enjoying the views and it's a really peaceful place for a nice drink. _________________ you heard it here first - BOJAN! |

Hi we had ours at the Selini this year in September the views are brilliant over looking the Bourtzi perfect for photos, the owners wife is English so that was a bonus she knew what we wanted she organised our cake and also recomended a florist....etc,the food was nice and plentyful we had a band and greek dancers (not cheap) which was good they had everyone up dancing and enjoying themselves
The Selini is perfect they never rushed us once even when time was getting on and people were being turned back from there. |
