| Hi My Friend Hudson and I are comiing to the Island once again at the end of August for the eighteenth time, Boy have we seen some life since our first in 1987, when the bus used to make its rolling and rickety way down Papadiamantes Street, and the Airport was a wooden shack with suitcases snaking their way across a dusty so called car park, and Xanemo was nudist with no Kiosk, the telephone wires round the buildings and those notorious smelly storm drains on Papadiamantes, what character, we miss them but we still keep coming back. |

these were the days........
back in 1988, the bus driver , (his wife found a litle pot on her 15 yrs old girl) when he shaw the responsible boys, pulled a stop in the midle of papadiamantis, and his surpized passengers (full bus) whatched in amazement, the panishment he inflicted..........
inocent times........ |

| Yes the Bus Drivers and conductors were characters, Yiannis who is still driving today was the first that we got to know really well, we've watched him go through the many trauma's of his life, and he still manages to smile and share a laugh, I well remember his co driver/conductor from a few years ago Nikos, he was great entertainment as we made our journeys between Koukounaries and Skiathos, with open door and Sex on the Beach blasting out all and sundry, Memories. |

| Yiannis is a great guy. He's not working as many hours these days because of a problem with his leg. Apparently he owns a shop in town as well...not sure which one though. |

Is Yiannis also known as Sean Connery? If so we saw him quite a few times in May on the bus, he likes his alternative name.
Has anyone seen the young guy who looks like Frankie Detorri this year? We didn't see him at all either on the bus or around town. |

Yiannis is Sean Connery, yes.
The Frankie lookalike had grown his hair really long, last year. He was still on the buses then anyway. |

i miss those times to!
i mean i like that its become a bit more modern but i allways though the cracked pavement and stinky drains where a part of the charm.
im in skiathos now actually im spending my summer working here.
and i've been coming here all my life and im still loving it!!! |

Yiannis has two brothers, Costa and Vassilis who are both taxi drivers, his sister is the lovely Martha of Marthas House. I have spent Pasca in their famillies company a couple of times, and they are all lovely people ... _________________

| "Frankie" got fed up with the buses & now drives the school bus. You see him most days dropping the kids off at Kolios beach for swimming lessons. |
