The Skiathos Bulletin Board

Hi all fellow Skiathos lovers, my name is Gaynor, like many of you out there my family and myself have been visiting Skiathos on holiday for about the last 8 years, going 2-3 times each year. We usually stay around Aghia Paraskevi, Kolios, Troulous areas. We just love the island and the people soooooo much we cant stay away.

My partner and myself are getting married in Skiathos in September this year. As I've been reading the board messages for quite some time now I know a few of you have already got married there and some others are getting married there like us this year, therefore any advice/ideas would be welcome. There will be approximately 50 of us, some are staying for 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks. We are staying with our friends Yanni, in the Marina Hotel/Appartments in Kolios.

We do have a number of english and greek friends who live in Skiathos and one particular couple who live there are helping me organise the wedding etc, but I am sure your extra advice and tips will help make it a special day.

Hi Gaynor, welcome to the board and congratulations on your being a Skiathos lover and your forthcoming wedding there.

What date have you chosen in Sept? Will it be at the Bourtzi?

Hi Gaynor

As Ian said I'm one of thewedding experts here (well i did it once, if you can call that being an expert)

Having someone on Skiathos (especially if they are greek) helps a lot with organising the wedding, but if there is anything you want to know just ask.

Thanks Chelleb for letting me view your wonderful wedding photos. It looked lovely especially with the sunny skies, and I got really excited Very Happy

as they gave me a good idea of what to expect at our wedding in September. Just hope the weather is good on the day (12th I think its going to be), because we visit in September a lot and you get start to get the unsettled weather, but if its not good weather, Scuna has an in door part so it should be ok.

If anyone is there on the 12th come along to the Bourtzi and have a look at us all dressed up! I've asked for the latest time (will let you know once confirmed).

Is the service short eg. 10/15 minutes and is there an official order of service we can get in english?

PS. thanks and hello to all that welcomed me to the board, especially my fellow scousers, by the way I am a reds fan Laughing

and my partner is a blue nose!! Crying or Very sad

Hi Foxy & Suejet

You most welcome to come and throw rice, money and whatever else you want to, we would love to meet you.

We hope we can have the wedding on the 12th Sept (wanted it on the Tuesday but its the 11th Sept and we didnt want to celebrate our wedding on such a date).

My other half (the blue nose) tells me it is a Euro qualifier that night (12th)England v Russia, so I am sure we will be around the bars on the harbour watching the large screen TV's, look out for me I will be in my wedding dress!!!!! Laughing

Anyway foxy the blues were lucky on Sunday, last minute winner!!!!
