Hey everyone,

Just booked a week at Hermes for this Wednesday, can't wait!
Off to visit the restaurant forum for good recommendations, any thoughts?

Hi Phil & Paula,

Welcome to the board and have a really wonderful holiday.

I hope you find lots of wonderful tavernas, there is a such a wide choice from little back streets, the bustling square up by the church, brilliant harbour views from up the steps or down by the old harbour or the other side where the yachts moor up. In other words everything you could wish for in one place.

Welcome to the board, Hermes is a great place to stay, I was there last October.

Its a bit early to recommend restaurants as the island will be getting ready for summer but wherever you go you will be made very welcome ..

Have a great time Phil, are you going from Manchester? I'm going on the FCA flight on Wed, can't wait!!
Kolios is one of the nicest resorts.
I believe Kolios Taverna (on the beach, NOT Sand Bar), is very good, and is in a lovely position just set back metres from the sea, so it's nice both day & nite (but probably a bit chillly at nite at the moment!!). Infinity Blue is meant to be nice too, with fantastic views from up there.

Have a good flight Philb and a wonderful holiday! Weather forecast is hot, hot hot!
I'm in Kolios too (Villa Nicara opp bus stop 15) - pop in and say hello if you have time and I'll give you some pointers on where to eat/shop etc as not everything is open yet. I saw the Kandarakis Brothers yesterday and Infinity Blue won't be opening for 10 days or so - Steve's (Stamatis) is open - always excellent food (close to bus stop 13). I haven't checked if the Kolios beach Taverna is open but yes, the food is really good, especially nice for lunch. Most of Paraskevi is still suffering with the dust from the roadworks but it looks as though most of the places are hoping to open later this week.
Today they finally tarmac'ed the stretch of road by Megaliamos but absolutely everything is still covered in a thick white dust - that part of the island looks like a winter snowscene!
